Happy birthday Tom Waits

Tom Waits turns 59 today.
Happy Birthday.

I'd say Tom Waits is the reason I stopped listening to pop as a tween. I heard one of his songs and although I didn't really get into his music till later, I really liked what I heard and realized there was more out there than boy bands.
No offense, Backstreet Boys and 98 degrees.
Alice is one of my favorites of his. I often find my self listening to his music when its raining. And when I light a cigarette and climb onto my window sill, the cliche is complete.

I would totally buy these for my brother if I thought he'd wear them. Not that I don't appreciate his style. I do. But he will never wear that hat I know would look incredible and he will never wear these shoes.
